SYNOPSIS:
Nearly a year after her mother has passed, Asal fights to finish a painting she’s been working on for several months, much to the chagrin of her father Baba—who doesn’t believe the piece is “real art”—and her brother, Aziz, who has been overseas for quite some time. The painting comes to life in her mind as an old Middle Eastern love story, Majnun, her mother’s favorite, this time from the woman’s perspective, with talking sea creatures who assist her on her journey to find her beloved.
